Nazca incorporated in the capital of Transportes García Villalobos and purchases Logifrío
Nazca and the García Villalobos family make up the Spanish leader in specialised logistics for manufacturers or sellers of food products which require periodic deliveries at a controlled temperature with the highest guarantees of quality (their services include the collection, transport, storage and daily distribution to wholesalers, large companies and includes three temperatures from frozen to fresh (-28Cº to +14Cº)).
Nazca has reached a strategic agreement with the García Villalobos family, owners of Transportes García Villalobos, a leader in specialised logistics for food in the North of Spain, Catalonia and Valencia, merging with its recently acquired Plataforma Frigorífica-PF (a leading company in specialised logistics for food in the Centre and South of Spain) with the activities of Transportes García Villalobos. The merger will create the leading group in specialised logistics for the food sector with presence in the main Spanish cities, directly covering over 80% of the national territory. The new group will invoice over €40 million and employ 400 people.
PF, with central headquarters in Madrid, was created in 1992 by a group of entrepreneurs from the transport sector to provide specialised logistics services for food companies. Since its creation, the company has completed its national coverage through the Logifrio network (the commercial brand under which it operates), which it acquired control of in August 2007, and other companies of the sector. Since then, the company has achieved sales of €18 million with growth of over 15% annually.
PF is a specialist in logistics services (transport, storage, consolidation of goods, picking and handling and other related services) at a controlled temperature for food companies with a strong presence in the Centre and South of Spain. The staff of PF is made up of 210 employees. Among its extensive list of clients (over 300) are the main national and international restaurant groups such as Grupo Sigla and Grupo Palacios.
Transportes García Villalobos, with central headquarters in Sant Esteve de Ses Rovires (Barcelona), was created in 1980 by Fernando García Villalobos to provide logistics services (transport, storage, consolidation of goods, picking and handling and other related services) at a controlled temperature for food companies.
Since 2002, the company has operated at a national level through the Logifrio association, which it left in mid-2007 to develop an individual project at a national level. The company operates with the GyV brand with its own facilities in Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante, Bilbao, and with recent openings in Zaragoza, Navarra and Madrid, and has achieved sales of over €25 million with annual growth of 15%. The company employs 150 people. Among its main clients are international food companies such as Sara Lee, Conway and Dr. Oetker, and local small and medium sized companies. As FGV indicates, “Our speciality is complexity. We offer logistics services to companies who have complex logistics due to both the size and number of deliveries, and time frames. We are the only company in the sector which offers services at three temperatures (-28Cº to +14Cº) at a national level.”
The new company forecasts future growth of over 15%, taking advance of the growth of the sector of over 10% and its national presence with a unique range of services in the controlled temperature segment. Additionally, the company expects to make selective acquisitions to consolidate its national network. “Our objective is to reach a level of invoicing of €100 million in 2011, serving medium and medium-large sized food companies,” states FGV.
The objective of this company is also to consolidate the agreements with the collaborators that both companies have in the different regions of Spain, with which they have operated for over 10 years.
