Nazca acquires El Granero Integral
Nazca Capital, through Nazca Fund III, has finalized an agreement for the acquisition of a majority shareholding in the shareholding of El Granero Integral from the Muñoz family, owner and founder of this company.
In this new phase, El Granero Integral has the priority objective of doubling invoicing in four years, consolidating its current strong national growth and internally developing added value products for specialised and food channels, as well as the selective acquisition of companies which complement its range of products.
El Granero Integral, founded in 1982, is leader in production and distribution of natural/healthy foods to the specialised channel and large food distribution companies. Currently, El Granero Integral sells both dried and fresh foods and dietary supplements mainly under its own internally produced brand, complemented by third party brands. El Granero Integral is a point of reference in the industry due to its large range of products (2,000 products), its added value products and the quality of its service.
The company has its central headquarters in Seseña (Toledo) and facilities in Paracuellos (Madrid) and employs 100 people. It had sales of 23 million euros in 2014 and has undergone annual growth of 15% in the last two years.
The organic/natural food market in Spain has grown at a rate higher than 10% annually during the last ten years, based on growing demand for healthy and better quality foods. Spain is the European country with the largest area of organic crops, with 1.2 million hectares, and the fifth largest consumer of this type of product.
