What is your experience?

I began my professional career in auditing at PWC while studying the final two years of my degree. After graduating in administration and business management from the Autonomous University (Educational Cooperation Programme), I remained linked to the financial sector, first in Management Solutions (financial consulting) and then at BBVA (equity market). In June 2007, after completing a Master’s in Finance at the IEB, I joined the investment team at Nazca.

What do you think makes Nazca different?

The capacity to adapt to circumstances not only in the business but also as an organisation, which has allowed Nazca to grow in an orderly manner and consolidate itself as a stable, solid group.

What factor is key in the private equity management team relationship?

The alignment of interests is an essential element which helps to consolidate the relationship between partners and management teams, and although it does not guarantee results, it helps to achieve them. The level of involvement and support of the private equity company in making important decisions are factors which also strengthen the relationship of management teams.

What challenges must entrepreneurs take into account when considering incorporating a private equity fund?

If I had to name one general challenge, it would be the capacity to adapt to change. The entry of a private equity fund usually gives projects dynamism and speed (we are catalysts of growth), rigorousness in decision making (with solid bases) and flexibility when different circumstances require it.

How do you spend your free time?

I like to be with my family and spend time with friends. I enjoy outdoor sports with them, especially in the mountains, and we therefore go cycling, motorbiking or skiing as much as I can.
