IDP Engineering Group acquires a majority stake in EcoIntegral engineering, a specialist in energy and telecommunications
- IDP continues its expansion plan with its second acquisition following the entry of Nazca Capital.
- The integration of other engineering and digital services firms that are synergistic for IDP is one of the strategic pillars of the group, along with organic development.
- Ecointegral, founded in 1998 and based in Cordoba, is an engineering firm specialising in projects related to electricity transmission and distribution, renewable energies and telecommunications.
- Juan Ramon Mateos, founder of Ecointegral, remains a shareholder and will be the chairman of the board of directors.
Madrid, 18 January 2022.- IDP engineering group, a leader in Spain in the development of projects using BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology, acquires a majority stake in Ecointegral, a leading engineering company in the energy and telecommunications sector, made up of 220 professionals, with offices in Spain in Cordoba, Malaga, Zaragoza, Las Palmas and in Krakow (Poland), with more than 500 renewable energy projects (photovoltaic, wind and hydrogen) and 3,000 transport and electricity distribution projects for clients such as Endesa (Enel), Naturgy, Red Eléctrica de España, Forestalia, Q-Energy, Vodafone, Telefónica, Orange Cellnex and Telxius, among many others.
With this deal, Ecointegral reinforces the continuity of its extraordinary growth line of 75% annual average over the last three years, by having greater production capacity, commercial strength and geographical presence. The management team will continue to be led by Francisco Gabriel Martín as general manager and the board of directors will be chaired by Juan Ramón Mateos, founding partner of the company.
IDP advances in the implementation of the strategic plan of organic and inorganic growth defined since Nazca’s entrance in the company’s shareholding in July 2020. In 2022 the company will exceed €25 M in revenue, will form a technical team of more than 450 professionals in all specialties, will expand the verticals of services with the new divisions of Energy and Telecommunications that will complement those of Industry, Logistics, Environment and Data Centres, which are also experiencing strong organic growth, and will consolidate its presence in Spain with offices in Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Malaga, Las Palmas, A Coruña, Cordoba, Cartagena and Lugo, in its intention to offer a global service but close to its clients’ investments.
