Álvaro Mariategui

Before establishing Nazca in February 2001, Alvaro was an investment banker at Deutsche Bank and Bankers Trust and also an auditor and consultant at KPMG where he began his career. He has a degree in Economics and an MBA from the University of North Carolina. In 1990, while at Bankers Trust he started investing in medium-sized Spanish enterprises. Later, as Managing Director at Deutsche Bank, he led the corporate banking business in Spain targeting medium-sized, mainly family-owned businesses and advising them on their strategic and financial plans.
In February 2001, he co-founded Nazca with Carlos, setting up an equity investment model geared towards value creation through growth. Since then, he has been involved as joint MD in all aspects of the expansion of Nazca, Spain’s leading private equity firm with 10 funds across a range of strategies, €1.3 billion invested and 110 transactions completed.
He is currently a member of Nazca’s Management Board and Investment Committee and also chairs the boards at Zunibal, Herbex, Laboratorios Almond and Filmin.
