FoodBox is a Buy & Build project to create a multibrand platform in the Spanish organized restaurant segment. Founded in April 2015 with the acquisition of Santagloria (coffee bakery shop) and Taberna Volapie (Spanish taverns). After the acquisition of Papizza (sliced pizza) in June 2015 and MásQMenos (Spanish modern cafeterías) in March 2017, FoodBox has currently a network of 200 restaurants (own restaurants and franchisees)
FoodBox’s headquarters were created immediately after the initial acquisitions in April 2015 incorporating professionals with proven experience in the sector and motivated to create and develop the project. The management team is led by Carlos Pérez Tenorio (Chairman), ex-Managing Director of Restalia; Augusto Méndez de Lugo (Managing Director) and Raimundo Jiménez Alba (CFO), both of them ex-Burger King Executives.
FoodBox’s strategy is to identify and develop organized restaurant concepts with rapid growth, mainly under franchisee model, in consolidated segments of the market, adapted to new restaurant market tendencies in Spain and easy to integrate into a centralized platform.
FoodBox’s Business Plan contemplates incorporating additional restaurant chains to the platform and reaching a restaurant network of +350 in the next five years.
