Nazca, “Best Middle Market Operation” for Agromillora

On the 5th of July, Nazca Capital was one of the Private Equity entities awarded at the 10th Edition of the Private Equity Awards in Spain, organised by ASCRI (Spanish Association of Capital, Growth and Investment), Deloitte and IESE Business School. These awards confirm the contribution of the Private Equity & Private Equity sector to the stimulation of Spanish SMEs.

The other companies awarded were Nauta Capital VC Partners, Advent International, Inveready Technology Investment Group, Portobello Capital and KKR.

Antonio Moreno, Manager of Authorisation and Registration of Entities of the CNMV, who passed away this year, received the Prize of Honour for “Promotion of Private Equity” due to his contribution to the Private Equity & Private Equity sector in Spain. The award was collected on his behalf by the Vice President of the CNMV, Ana María Martínez-Pina.

The awards were issued at an event held on the 5th of July in Florida Retiro (Madrid) presented by Michi Primo de Rivera, attended by over 160 personalities from the Private Equity & Private Equity industry, and the banking and academic sectors. Fernando Ruiz, President of Deloitte, Juan Luis Ramírez, President of ASCRI and Juan Roure, Professor at IESE Business School, welcomed attendees before the award ceremony.

The judges responsible for selecting the winners was made up of a prestigious panel of experts: Juan Roure (Professor and founder of the Network of Private Investors and Family Offices of IESE Business School and private investor), María José Osuna (Private Equity Manager of Casa Grande de Cartagena), José Martí Pellón (Professor of Financial Economics at the Complutense University of Madrid and founder of Webcapitalriesgo), Miguel Zurita (Partner of Altamar Private Equity), Craig Williamson (Adviser and Former Partner of SL Capital Partners), José Antonio Morales (Investment Manager at Mutua Madrileña), José Luis García Muelas (Manager of Loreto Mutua), María Sanz (Partner of Swancap Partners) and José Luis del Río (Managing Director of Arcano Capital).

Awards were given for different categories to Private Capital entities based in Spain and members of ASCRI, which had divested their shareholding in businesses between the 1st of April 2016 and the 31st of March 2017, when these operations were successful due to financial profitability for investors or the challenges overcome (growth of sales, employment, entry in new markets, greater innovation, etc.).
