What is your experience?

I studied Business in Europe and IT and Microcomputers at Harvard. I have a master’s in finance by Universidad Complutense de Madrid, master’s in eBusiness by IE, PDG by IESE and an Executive Programme by Singularity University.

After working in finance in Europe and United States, I was part of Google for more than 11 years before their IPO helping develop the company outside of United States, when they only had one product and a few employees. I have taken part in the definition and execution of one of their biggest current technologies, focusing on monetization of products, creation, and scalability of the of the business, creating and developing teams, etc. In 2012 I moved to the product area at the United States Headquarters with P&L and global responsibility to monetize Google Maps. Afterwards I oversaw accelerating the business in LatAm where I am currently co-founder of a Seed Capital fund.

My experience covers strategy, scalability and internalization, operations, high performance teams, culture and change management, income growth and mergers integration among others.

With experience as independent advisor and member of advisory boards in America and Europe, I am a mentor for technological entrepreneurship since 2004 and a member of Endeavour America since 2014.

What makes you most proud to belong to Nazca?

Without a doubt the human touch of a professional team of the highest standards, reflected on their track record. In the other hand, I identify myself with their DNA of continuous search for improvement and development, which has translated into great results and a bright future filled with opportunities.

What is the main challenge a private equity professional faces when analysing an investment opportunity?

In the digital and technological spectrum where I focus, you need to have a clear vision of the future which directly affects the potential of a company. You must understand the market dynamics, the strategic players, envision the technological evolution, the user and consumer critical aspects as well as having a moving picture of the strategy identifying risk and opportunities. At a personal level, the alignment between the founder or the management team and the private equity team must be strong.

What do you like most about your work?

I love what I do, the intellectual challenge that comes with sharing a vision and disruptive growth is critical for me. The richness of the interaction between advisors, Nazca’s team, the founders, and management teams of the different companies… the team’s diversity of experience and knowledge is fantastic.

How do you spend your free time?

I believe that the emotional, spiritual, physical and mental balance has to be taken care of daily, but the work environment tends to focus more on the intellect therefore on my free time I tend to focus on other aspects and specially my family and helping others, even as a coach as it is a high impact help.
